Urban Lumber Company salvages storm damaged, dead, and hazardous street and yard city trees. We then mill, dry, and surface them into lumber and slabs for sale in our retail lumber store. If its wider, longer, shorter, thicker, thinner, or hard to find, we try to have it. We stock about 15,000 board feet of kiln dried ready to use lumber and keep an additional 10,000 board feet on hand air drying. Along with cabinet and furniture grade lumber we carry extra wide natural edge slabs, turning blocks, burls, and musical instrument grade tone woods. We are happy to sell one board to the weekend hobbyist, or a truck load for a commercial construction project. Give us a call or come in to checkout our current inventory and pricing.

We are known for some of the nicest extra wide natural edge slabs in the world. Our ever changing inventory of slabs are perfect for one piece table and bar tops. Book-matched sets of wide and thick lumber set any project apart.

We never know what kind of trees are going to come our way, but the urban forest in the temperate Willamette Valley is home to many hardwoods that are normally only found in other parts of the world. We try to stock the basics like maple, oak, walnut, ash, elm, pine, fir, and cedar in multiple thicknesses. We also have many of the local Oregon and western woods like yew, chinquapin, locust, sycamore, redwood, myrtle, madrone, alder, and cherry.

Whether it is matched lumber from a tree with a historically significant story, or a special item on sale, here is where you will find the latest sales and special items. New wood fresh out of the kiln and one of a kind figured boards are featured here.

We have produced countless custom projects from trees with a great story. 10″ wide x 20′ long plank flooring from reclaimed bleacher seats. Tongue and groove black walnut exterior siding. Musical instrument soundboards from mud covered sunken logs.
