About Urban Lumber Company

From its humble beginnings as a wood working hobby, and with roots in the custom longboard skateboard world, Seth San Filippo went full time with Urban Lumber Company in 2006. With the belief that there is a personal responsibility to not waste urban trees, the business continues to evolve and expand, but the true love of beautiful woods and the trees they come from stays the same. Seth is proud to live and work in the beautiful northwest, and when not working wood, enjoys beekeeping, surfing, bbqing, and working on old Chevys.

Precious Natural Resources

3 to 4 billion board feet of usable lumber is thrown away every year as one third of our nations green waste. Like many areas, Eugene, Oregon is in the middle of an urban forest that contains more trees than people. These trees are vital to our economic sustainability and community’s well being. Nobody likes to see trees go away, but when it is absolutely necessary, they should go to a better place than the landfill or burn pile.

What You Can Do

By using our lumber for your building or hobby projects, you are supporting a sustainable local business and giving an otherwise doomed tree a second life. Also, we do not fell trees, but If you have a tree that needs to be removed please contact us and we can recommend an arborist. If the tree is usable to us, we may be able to work with your arborist and salvage the tree once it is down to lower your removal bill while putting the tree to good use.
