This huge incense cedar came down today after being damaged in a recent storm. The 80 ton crane removal was nerve racking but went perfectly. Come check it out at or store, or let us know if you are interested in very large slabs, or rounds. More information and pictures can be found on our facebook page here.
New design consultant steps up!
We are happy to have our new design consultant Kara Williams on board to help with custom furniture design. She came in for her first day of work yesterday and got a little more than she bargained for. We were busy trying to finish a few projects and she ended up sanding myrtle trim until her fingers were numb. Then found herself helping pound wedges and push the large slabbing sawmill through a huge curly walnut log. Thanks for helping out Kara. Next time will be easier and we’re looking forward to working with you.
Big Walnut Comes Down
One of the largest black walnut trees came down on Friday due to thousand cankers disease. It was located at the corner of 6th and Madison. The main trunk is 5′ in diameter at the narrowest point and nearly 8′ at the widest. It will be put to use and make some beautiful wide slabs for table tops and furniture.
Remodel Nearly Complete
The new gallery space in our retail store is nearly completed. The door is complete. The drywall is up and primered.
It should be completed this week. Keep an eye out for the first event!
